These medical illustration and 3D anatomy projects explored the intersection of art, anatomy, and emerging medical technology through highly detailed digital modeling and visualization. The work included the creation of anatomically accurate 3D models of the lungs, cancerous tissue, and full torso anatomy reconstructed from cryosectioned cadaver data for use in advanced surgical simulation and haptic feedback training systems.

Using layered anatomical reference, volumetric reconstruction techniques, and digital sculpting workflows, the models were designed to translate complex anatomical relationships into immersive educational tools that could support tactile surgical learning and procedural accuracy. Particular emphasis was placed on preserving anatomical realism — from vascular structures and tissue variation to spatial relationships between organ systems — while optimizing models for interactive simulation environments.

The torso reconstruction project involved interpreting cryosectioned datasets to build a detailed anatomical model capable of integration into advanced haptic feedback surgical trainers, allowing users to not only visualize anatomy, but physically interact with simulated tissue and structures in real time. Additional projects focused on pulmonary anatomy and tumor visualization, exploring how medical illustration can bridge scientific precision with intuitive understanding.

These works reflect a broader interest in the convergence of medicine, visualization, and human-centered design — using digital anatomy not only as an educational resource, but as a tool for improving surgical training, communication, and patient outcomes.
